Monday

from my treasure chest...

I collect vintage things.
One of my most precious collections is my box of millinery flowers and leaves.
A large fraction of the group is pink.
So I thought I would post some of the pink flowers, since they are so pretty to look at...

Ranunculus buds. I love these. They are a labor intensive flower to make.

I *love* it when the flowers have their original tags (this one from 1908!).
I haven't had the heart to use these, as they are so perfect as they are.

Germany and Japan have produced some of the most wonderful millinery items.
So gorgeous.

Lilacs and roses. In the perfect pale pink.
I think that I got this for $1 during an antique trip--treasure indeed!

  4. Lovely! I especially adore velvet millinery. That large flower toward the end is wonderful, as are the first flowers.

  8. thank you Alex! :)
I got the last one over in walnut (practically for a song, maybe 1.50? Some of the other millinery flowers have cost quite a lot more, so it's always exciting to find treasure in unlikely places)

  10. Pink Ranuculus... That sounds like an awesome name for some sort of alien creature on Star Wars. They should use that in the next season of "Clone Wars". It'd be the best episode yet! They could bring back the Zillo Beast and have them have a massive battle, while the Jedi all try to capture them. It would be a ratings smash!
