Daisy + Glass
This is an experimental flower.
I was inspired while walking through the flower shop.
It is a gerbera daisy that has a glass beaded center.
I like the way it turned out. :):)

Thursday
Thanksgiving
My Family has, to some degree, lost the traditions that I was familiar with as a little kid. This year we've been working overtime to bring back that wonderful holiday experience, and to make everything more relaxed and enjoyable and pretty than it ever was before. So often we get in a hurry, and don't take the time to really appreciate and expiriment.
So, my sister and I worked for a while on Wednesday into the am hours to make sure we had all of these special foods prepared. I used a lot of Ina Gartens recipes.
They were rich (the turkey and dressing and the gravy, and the very good date nut bread), and way better than the recipes I've made before (thanks Ina! :)).
I decorated the table with the dessert and some fruit.
My sister collects vintage china and glassware, so we hauled out a few pieces of her collection to use for dinner.
My favorite: good chocolate. These shiny little bits are the best chocolate covered dried cherries I've ever had.
~.~.~.~.~Happiest of Thanksgivings to you! ;)~.~.~.~.~

dreaming of wrappings...
I spend a lot of time thinking about interesting ways of wrapping parcels...
I'm designing some new flowers, twine samplers and kits that will be added to the shoppe (next week?).
I've also been spending a lot of time thinking about the thanksgiving wonderfulness of next week. I have a small pile of gourmet chocolates that I'm hoarding to serve along with the pies...
they are so pretty, I may have to take some photos of them.

English Roses
More roses! Woot!
I made these ones along with the sparkly ones I just posted.
Only I went a little different route, I dyed these.
It is a new tecnique for me (I've tried many), and even though it is a little more time consuming than creasing or cupping petals, I'd say it is a keeper.
The flowers look a lot more lifelike.
Tuesday
glittered roses
I finally have a new batch of roses in the shoppe.
These are a little larger than the usual mini roses (they're about 1 3/4 inch across)
and are quite sparkly. I wanted a specific sort of glitter, something silver-y but with hints of other colors, so I ended up mixing my own (the batch I made was just enough for the group of flowers).
