biscuit tags

Photobucket

Here are a few pics of the first round of new goods: the biscuit tags. I made 12 colors.
I tend to forget how long it takes to load new listings {I ran out of time...oh well...in the morning perhaps??}, so I have dozens and dozens and heaps of other schtuff to post.

Tuesday

a few that are new

I have been making stuff all day...
I have new tags...poppies to stock...new boxes...miny envelopes and little cards...
new butterflies...etc.

Monday

rose birdie, part two

I almost never sew black things.
A friend gifted some black material to me to create something.
It wasn't quite right for their project, so they thought they would let me have a go with it.

I forgot to specify what type of sewing project I had been working on--a handbag, and a large one at that. One of my requirements for handbags is that they be large enough to fit a 9x12 notebook, and packages.

I used Amy Butler's Birdie Sling pattern for this particular bag, with a liberal amount of tweaking.

For one, the material (a faux-leather {this was my first time using this type of material...it was interesting...it is more slippery to sew than a regular woven fabric}) wasn't wide enough to allow the pieces to be cut on the fold, hence the renegade seams running down the middle. I rather like the extra top stitching though.

I love details. I used the striped ribbon to make some long tabs to attach the handle.
I wove in a few leaf beads at either end.

I haven't made ribbon roses for a while. These turned out well.
I used Candace Kling's artful ribbon book to learn how to make the roses.

Using the same material as the main body, I crafted some leaves to accompany the roses.

I had sewed a handle with the black material, and found that it wasn't a good match. It wrinkled in the wrong places. So I opted to try another material.
I used three types of chain to form the handle: some like silver beads, another like silver figure eights, and another antique brass type.

I couldn't resist a nice cheeky red dot to line this bag.

Sunday

I have finally gotten a sewing project done.
These are some of the components that I have used (I got the project done rather late, so the pics will have to come when I have a little daylight ;))

I really love the spectrum. I'm glad there are so many colors, how dull it would be if life was black and white.

I have been crazy-busy.
There are so many, many things I would like to have accomplished this week, and so very many to be done in the next.
I have been drooling over those "made by hank" bags made with the vintage fabrics.
I really think that I should get back to the sewing machine and make one.
{I haven't sewn anything (besides paper) for some time...hmm...}.
Hopefully, this next week, I'll get pics posted of the "studio", a special feature, a tutorial, and something sewn. :)

~~~happiest of weekends~~~may it be colorful~~~
In one little corner of the garden, some carrots that never got pulled up-have flowered.
I think they have beautiful flowers, tiny and lace-like.
Saturday
a few mini's
envelopes,paper,etsy
today I went to the city...
I brought back a very large stack of paper...
some fancy tape, and tiny beads...
some colorful things, and some shiny, and some very soft...
It was a lot of interesting hunting packed into a small window of time.
Friday
dotted pillowboxes
pillow 3
I just listed some 30 or so sets of dotted boxes in the shoppe (to see the other colors, just wonder around the boxes and bags section :))
